This summer we are running three additional experiences for your enjoyment.

Junior Falconer
(for children under 16)
Falconry can be enjoyed by everyone, this experience is for under 16s,
During the experience you will learn all about birds of prey and how they survive in the wild.
You will get to make some of the equipment the falconers have to use each day when flying the birds.
There will be fun information and worksheets to colour in and YOU
will also get the opportunity to see and handle a range of different birds of prey and EVEN get to fly one to your gloved hand.

Refreshments will be supplied (soft drink and biscuit)
All children must be accompanied by an adult
Duration: 1 hour 30 min
Starting 10.30 to 12pm

The Wild bug safari
In the UK we have a wide range of amazing mini bug and wildlife.
This experience will take you around the grounds of Gelli Aur Country Park searching for these wonderful bug and insects, you will learn all about how they life and how important they are to our planet.
After the wild safari and learning all about the bugs and plants, you will go on a wild forage to discover what nature provides to make a wild collage for you can take home.

Photography Experience
Have you ever wanted to get a great picture of birds of prey, but they just don’t sit still long enough or are flying in the wrong direction, then this might just be for you?
This experience will give you the opportunity to get some amazing pictures of birds of prey with the backdrop of Gelli Aur Country Parks hillside and woodlands,
During the Experience you will have opportunities for
1. Static pictures (birds on blocks or sitting in trees)
2. flying pictures (you will be told where the bird will be flying so you can set yourself up first)
3. Fast flying (on this you will have the chance to test your skills at trying to get the perfect picture of a falcon as it circles and barrel rolls through the sky)
During this experience there will also be lots of chances for you to take pictures of some of the amazing trees/plants and wildlife Gelli Aur Country Parks has to offer
